BikeRadar recently reviewed the latest TCX Advanced Pro cyclocross bike, calling the lightweight composite racer “comfortable, fast, precise and direct.” Impressed with its newest updates and overall performance, editors gave it a near-perfect ranking of 4.5 stars (out of 5).
From the frameset to its compliance-tuned components and Tubeless Ready wheels, BikeRadar tester Robin Wilmott found the TCX Advanced Pro 2 model to be smooth and responsive in a variety of riding conditions.
“The D-shaped post and dropped, triangular seatstays are tough, while providing lots of rider-induced flex that makes a difference to seated riding across rough terrain,” Wilmott wrote. “Being able to sit down for longer when it’s bumpy means more effective pedaling, and more speed.”
Wilmott also praised the Tubeless Ready Giant WheelSystem. “Thru-axles keep Giant’s P-X2 Disc wheelset running true,” he wrote. “The 25mm wide and tall aluminum rims are tubeless, spin on Giant’s own hubs, and come fitted with 33mm Maxxis All Terrane tires. As is common with modern Giants, mine arrived set up tubeless, a service any Giant dealer will offer.”
Summing up the performance of the TCX Advanced Pro, Wilmott wrote: “The TCX is a bike that you’ll just want to ride further. With no vices, enormously accessible performance, and a great specification, it’s hard to beat on the high street, or on a ’cross course.”
