Bike Theft Resources

Sadly, bikes are often stolen, and police departments don't often use their limited resources to try to track them down.

Lock your bike well

Read our guide to locking your bike and all its components.

Register your bike pre-theft

In the unhappy event that your bike gets stolen, you want to get as much information as possible to the police. The National Bike Registry (NBR) is here to help. Register your bike(s) with them through the BTA site, and 30% of registration fees go to the BTA!

Check to see if your bike is on eBay

The Police often collect stolen bikes and then auction them off if they're not claimed. BikePortland.org explains what's up and how to look for your bike.
