On Friday, May 9, Mayor Buddy Dyer will take part in the City of Orlando’s annual Bike to Work Day. Mayor Dyer will lead bicyclists from Loch Haven Park along the Orlando Urban Trail to City Hall during the free event.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Mennello Museum of American Art (900 East Princeton Street), with the ride starting at 8 a.m. Free coffee, tea, bike tune-ups and commuter benefit information will be provided to participants. The event is part of National Bike Month, which is celebrated in communities all across the country. Vehicle parking for Bike to Work Day is available at the Loch Haven Park Neighborhood Center (610 North Formosa Drive).
This year’s Bike to Work Day event falls during SunRail’s free service dates. Bicycles are welcome on board all SunRail trains. The closest station to Loch Haven Park is at Florida Hospital (500 East Rollins Street). Following the ride, the nearest station to City Hall is the Church Street Station (99 West South Street).
